Parent & Baby Wellbeing
About Me

Celia Suppiah MBE
I am an accredited AVIGuk practitioner and passionate about giving babies the best possible start in life. I offer Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) because it is a powerful tool to help parents gain profound insights into their baby's emotional world. Being a parent, whilst full of joy, can also be overwhelming. VIG helps you to see your strengths. It focuses on the positives. I use VIG to help parents develop self-confidence and to understand how they are supporting their baby's wellbeing and development.
I have a 40-year professional health background, starting out as a nurse, then a midwife and specialist community public health nurse. I am also the Founder of Parents 1st UK, a national charity specialising in perinatal peer support. During my 16 years as CEO at Parents 1st UK, I developed a 3-year project that delivered VIG to 60 parents. The project had wonderful results. All the parents showed positive changes after receiving VIG including:
-
Reduced anxiety
-
Increased confidence as parents; and
-
Enhanced relationships with their babies.
I now work as an independent practitioner in the local areas around Melton Mowbray, Rutland and Grantham. When meeting with you I draw on my professional knowledge and experience of promoting health and wellbeing during pregnancy, birth and beyond.
I abide by the AVIGuk Code of Conduct, Ethics and Practice
